Artist Alex Grey to Perform Live Painting Demo

 OCC’s Doyle Arts Pavilion to Host Special Event Saturday
Artist Alex Grey will perform a live painting demonstration at a special fundraising event at the Orange Coast College Frank M. Doyle Arts Pavilion on Friday, Nov. 20th.
The fundraising event, with VIP admission at $100 (5:00 to 10:00 p.m.) and standard tickets at $50 (7:00 to 10:00 p.m.), includes special goody bags, an art auction, entertainment and refreshments. Tickets are available from gallery director Andrea Harris, 714-432-5102.
A limited number of special edition Alex Grey etchings will be available for purchase. Special Alex Grey t-shirts by Hurley will also be available in the collaborative Hurley/Art Pavilion Gallery Store.
All contribution will benefit the Frank Doyle Arts Pavilion and Chapel of Sacred Mirrors (CoSM), a nonprofit organization devoted to provides a public exhibition of the Sacred Mirrors and the most outstanding works of mystical art by Alex Grey.
More than 300 self-portraits from Grey’s famous ‘Sacred Mirrors’ project will be on exhibit through Dec. 18th. The display includes Grey's unique series of 21 life-sized paintings, the “Sacred Mirrors,” which takes the viewer on a divine journey by examining the body, mind and spirit. The exhibition runs through Dec. 18th.
The Frank M. Doyle Arts Pavilion is open from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, with extended hours on Wednesdays from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Admission is free. Metered parking is available in Lot D9 off Merrimac Way.
