The Department of College and Community Support is comprised of the following community services:
Community Education provides high-quality programs for adult, students, children, business and industry in a variety of areas ranging from professional and workforce development, personal growth, enrichment, and kid's college programming.
Contract Education provides off or on-site corporate training tailored to the diverse business needs of our community.
Facility Rentals offers state of the art facilities for events, lectures, meetings, performances and even weddings for rent.
OCC Swap Meet features one-of-a-kind used treasures as well as new merchandise. Vendors sell everything from produce and fresh flowers to unique crafts.
The Recycling Center serves Orange Coast College and the surrounding community with top-notch recycling services and education in sustainability.
The ultimate goal of each of these community services is to generate revenue to support campus and classroom activities. In the 2016-2017 school year the department contributed a total of $3.5 million to the campus.
The department, which also includes the Campus Mailroom and
Print Services, takes a Profit, People, Planet approach to its planning and decision making. The following strategies of the department are part of the OCC's Three-Year Educational Master Plan and align with the College's Vision, Mission, Values, and Strategic Goals and Objectives.
- Integrate the six areas of College and Community Support into a cohesive, entrepreneurial, and fiscally stable department.
- Develop a strategic plan for successful completion of professional development programs for the classified staff based on the needs of the individual and the department
- Institute sustainable practices in order to reduce the environmental impact of the department.
