ADMISSIONS PROCESS

International Student Application Form 
If you are a US non-resident and need a non-immigrant visa to study in the US, then you must fill out and print the InternationalApplication Form.pdf. If you are US passport holder or have US residency status regardless if all your education was completed abroad, then you must apply at http://home.cccapply.org/.
 
Application Fee:  $55.00 and non-refundable.  We accept cash, check, money order or credit card (Visa or MasterCard). If you write a personal check, it should be made payable to Orange Coast College. All checks should be in US currency and encoded on a U.S. bank.  If paying by credit card, complete the Payment Authorization.pdfPayment Authorization.pdf.  If paying by credit card, please mail the attached form along with your application or fax it to (714) 432-5191. 
 
Written Statement
Submit a 1-2 page personal statement highlighting the following:
  • Your interest and intention of attending Orange Coast College.
  • Academic history and academic background which may include certificates and degrees you have already earned.
Photograph
2” x 2” passport-sized photograph of yourself.
 
Passport Identification Page (If available)
 
Bank statement/verification form
Official bank statement or verification letter demonstrating available funds of at least $19,620 USD. Bank statements and letters must be in English and dated less than 5 months from the point your application becomes complete.
 
Sponsorship form
The sponsorship form has two sections and must be completed and signed by you and by your financial sponsor (self, parent, relative, or friend).  If your sponsor lives outside the U.S. please use  OCC's Sponsorship Form.pdfSponsorship Form.pdf.  If you are sponsored by an embassy or Government, please submit an official letter verifying your sponsorship.
 
Official academic records
  • High School Applicants: Submit official final transcripts with proof of graduation or most current transcript with courses in progress*,
  • Secondary School Applicants from British or External Examination Educational Systems: Submit official marksheets of O-level, IGCSE, Board Examinations for India, or HKDSE for Hong Kong. AS and A-Levels can be substituted, if applicable.
  • University/College Level Applicants: Submit official transcript from the last term of attendance or most current transcripts with courses in progress*. If you have completed one full year of university/college level work, then you do not have to submit high school/secondary school academic records.

*Applicants with courses in progress will be issued a provisional acceptance and must submit official final transcripts when available.

To obtain official transcripts, contact your school's registrar or the Ministry of Education in your home country.

 
English Requirement*
TOEFL : 61 Internet Based or 500 Paper-Based. No older than 2 years old. Institutional Code: 4584 OR
 
iTEP exam: Level 5 OR

IELTS exam: 5.5  OR
 
STEP-EIKEN : Pre-First Level OR  
 
Proof of completion of an acceptable level ESL class at an intensive English Language School in the U.S. with which OCC has an agreement.  Language School Agreement List.pdf​.
 
*Applicants can also meet this requirement by completing three high school English classes (not ESL) where the primary language of Instruction of the school is English or completed transferable English Composition.

*If you decide to mail your applicaiton packet, include a tracking number. Orange Coast College is not responsible for application materials that can not be track electronically.

Applications are reviewed in the order it was received. Incomplete sections of the application and missing required documents will only delay our response. Please allow 4-5 business days before calling or emailing to follow-up with your status.

You will receive an email notifying your admissions decision. If you are accepted, refer to the pre-departure information with the next steps to prepare for your enrollment which also include information of the issuance of your I-20.

Any falsification of your application which may include forgery, tampering or altering academic records, or omitting to report past tertiary coursework is basis for automatic disqualification of your application and admissions to Orange Coast College.
