Where can I get Campus Wide Resources and News about COVID-19?
Orange Coast College has created an official Student Resources & FAQ Page for all students. Please make sure to read through to get answers to many common questions. Below are more questions pertinent to specifically Student Equity participants.
I am thinking of dropping classes because of COVID-19. What should I do?
The college has created an Excused Withdrawal FAQ to help you to understand the new option for an excused withdrawal “EW” with refund. Please make sure to read the FAQ if you are considering dropping any classes in light of the changes due to COVID-19.
Do I still need to fulfill my contract requirements to remain in the Student Equity Program? (APRs, Mid-Semester Check-In, Engagements, enrollment in 6 units, etc.)
All contract requirements for Spring 2020 will be OPTIONAL. You will not be mandated to submit an APR, Mid-Semester Check-In, Engagements, or to maintain 6 units to stay in the program. If you have already filled out your APR and would like to submit it regardless of the requirements, you can click on this form to submit your APR electronically.
However, you WILL be required to remain enrolled in classes at OCC. If you drop out of all of your classes for Spring 2020, you will no longer be a Student Equity participant.
How can I reserve a spot for the Fall 2020 Student Equity Program?
For students who remained enrolled in Spring 2020 classes, we will send out instructions on how to reserve a spot in the Fall 2020 Student Equity Program towards the end of the spring.
Can I still access Student Equity Counselors?
Yes, our counselors are still available every Tuesday. All meetings will be virtual or over the phone. To book an appointment, please call Connie Oh at 714-432-5547.
Can I still access my bookstore funds remotely?
Yes, for students who are still enrolled in Spring 2020 classes, you will be able to access bookstore funds remotely. We will send you separate instructions on how to access bookstore funds.
Will I still be able to access my monthly resources (gas cards/bus passes)?
For students who are still enrolled in classes, we are working to mail you the usual monthly resources (gas card or bus pass) until the end of the Spring semester. We are also looking to add potentially grocery cards.
To ensure that we have you most accurate mailing address, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. If you do not provide us your mailing address, we will not be able to mail you your resource. You must be still enrolled in classes to receive these resources.
