MESA Program students are able to take advantage of a wealth of resources provided to help ensure their success, including:

Students accepted into the MESA program will also gain access to a Canvas course with additional resources and information to make use of.

The MESA Center
The Orange Coast College MESA (Math Engineering Science Achievement) Center is a space where MESA students can work independently, engage with study groups, and access study aids and workshops. The hub of our program, the MESA Center is where the majority of opportunities and resources available to our students can be found. The center is open Monday-Fridays as a space for students enrolled in the program, and tutors are available throughout the week to assist students. Through the center the program creates a space for MESA students to build a supportive community with their peers, while providing students with the tools they need to succeed in their rigorous coursework.
Resources located at the MESA Center include:
- Study spaces
- Whiteboards
- Computer access (with STEM Software)
- Information regarding internship and research opportunities
- Tutoring services and guided review sessions
- Loaner equipment (calculators, etc)
- Molecular models, microscopes, anatomy models, and other study aids
- Counseling
- Skills workshops
- STEM Guest Speakers
- Various textbooks
- Printers (with free printing)
- Community building events
MESA students can come at any time the center is open to receive help from Peer Tutors. Tutors are available for the following subjects:
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Computer Science
- Engineering
- Mathematics
- Physics
In addition, tutors may host the following activities throughout the semester including group study sessions, guided review sessions, and additional review sessions leading up to finals weeks.
Students may also utilize virtual tutoring during times where they may not be able to stop by the center in person.
The MESA Program has two Counselors dedicated to providing academic support to the STEM students in the program. With a Counselors office located in the MESA center, students are encouraged to schedule a time to meet with them whenever they have questions related to their classes, goals, and education plan.
MESA students may schedule an appointment with a MESA Counselor through Canvas.
Students in the program can also benefit from a variety of MESA Student led workshops to help build valuable skills.

- Transfer Prep
Additionally, social events will be hosted throughout the semester to help students destress and build a sense of community with their MESA Peers.
