Orange Coast College has begun construction on a telescope farm that will be located adjacent to the OCC Planetarium.

The project will be funded by a $1 million grant from an anonymous donor. The same grant has already funded other astronomy related projects, including OCC's Astronomy House, student field trips to the Planetarium, and various telescopes used by the College's Astonomy department. All of the telescopes will have electrical power and data connections.

The telescope farm will include eight telescopes that can be used by students and the public for nighttime viewing of the stars and solar observation. The approximate cost of the project is $300,000.

No structures will be removed to complete the telescope farm project.
