Orange Coast College invites the community to join in the celebration of the 20th annual Orange County Children's Book Festival scheduled for Sunday, October 1, from 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Guests can expect to participate in fun, family-friendly activities such as storytelling, conversations with the featured authors, book signings, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) activity area, face painting, train rides, bounce house, and meet and take photos with popular sci-fi characters.
Authors and events will be presented on five stages (Entertainment Stage, Storyteller Stage, Illustration and Inspiration Stage, World Stories and Adventure Stage, and Animal and Nature Stage, sponsored by San Diego Wildlife Alliance). The OCC Planetarium will host special exhibits from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. during the event: Foucault Pendulum, Space Rocks! Meteorites exhibit, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Science on a Sphere and Science on a Sphere Explorer.
The OCCBF's 2023 Special Guests include actor and comedian Jesus Trejo- author of Papa's Magical Water Jug Clock; actress Leslie Stratton, author of Let's Share, Panda Bear; and former LA Clipper Craig Smith, author of Craig and His Magical Basketball.
