Orange Coast College’s Waterfront Campus will host a Maritime Career Fair and Industry Panel on Friday, May 10, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with 15 employers.

Attendees will be able to explore employment opportunities within America’s maritime industries. The career fair will be a full day of learning and networking about careers on or around the ocean.

Representatives from Port of Long Beach, the United States Coast Guard, and the Office of Marine and Aviation Operations for the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and many commercial vessel operators are among the many employers expected to attend the event.

As a unique highlight, the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter NARWHAL will be open for tours throughout the event, offering a rare glimpse into maritime operations.

Employers will seek individuals for entry to mid-level positions who can serve in vessel operations, hull and machinery maintenance, welding, hospitality, food service, marine science, oceanography, information technology, customer service, marketing, business administration, outdoor education, and more.

Job seekers can explore career paths centered around the sea while making new connections. Additionally, attendees can meet OCC Waterfront Campus faculty and staff and learn about the academic and community-focused sailing, boating, and seamanship classes.

Admission is free, but registration is required on Eventbrite.
