Orange Coast College (OCC) has formalized a new agreement with California State University, Fullerton designed to expand transfer opportunities and support student success. The partnership provides OCC students with an enhanced admissions pathway compared to standard or local Grade Point Average (GPA) thresholds.

The Coast Community College District Board of Trustees ratified the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on December 12, 2025. The agreement establishes a defined pathway for eligible OCC students who meet minimum academic requirements to transition to Cal State Fullerton and is intended to strengthen transfer outcomes and degree completion.

Students participating in the program will have access to coordinated support services to ease the transfer process, including workshops, campus events, transfer-focused programming, and specialized tours at Cal State Fullerton.

"This partnership underscores Orange Coast College's dedication to student-centered transfer pathways that are transparent, supportive, and outcomes-driven," said Dr. Angelica Suarez, President of Orange Coast College. "By strengthening our collaboration with Cal State Fullerton, we are creating meaningful opportunities for our students to continue their education and pursue their long-term academic and career goals."

Under the terms of the MOU, OCC's Transfer Center will work closely with Cal State Fullerton partners to identify eligible students and provide targeted guidance throughout the transfer process. The institutions will also collaborate on data-sharing and ongoing evaluation to ensure the agreement continues to meet student needs.
