Last week, we celebrated the 77th Commencement Ceremony at Orange Coast College, marking the conclusion of another successful academic year. I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our classified professionals, faculty, and administrators, whose tireless efforts made this event memorable for our students, their families, and friends.
This year, we proudly conferred approximately 5,600 associate degrees and certificates to 2,759 graduates, aged 17 to 71. Plus, 21 states were represented in the graduating class, and 132 international student graduates from 28 countries. This diverse group of graduates exemplifies the lifelong educational journey that we champion at OCC.
Most of our graduates will transfer to four-year universities, including
OCC honors student Abner Molina, who is among the 1% of transfer students nationwide admitted to the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
