The OCC Symphony, Chamber Singers, and Chorale will perform a concert of Classical blockbusters on Saturday, May 14, at 8:00 p.m. in OCC’s Robert B. Moore Theatre. The program features an array of well-known and lesser-known “hits” of the Classical Era:

* Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s brief and cheerful “Tantum Ergo,” written when the composer was only in his mid-teens

* Mozart’s “Eine kleine Nachtmusik,” one of his most popular and familiar works

* Mozart’s beautiful Clarinet Concerto, featuring Lea Steffens as soloist

* Haydn’s “Lord Nelson” Mass, a brilliant tour de force for soloists, chorus, and orchestra (with special guest Marlissa Hudson, who’s coming all the way from Washington, DC, to perform the famously difficult and pyrotechnic soprano solo!)

Joseph Modica, who has previously taught at Chapman University and the University of South Carolina, will make his debut as guest conductor of the OCC Symphony. Eliza Rubenstein, OCC’s Director of Choral and Vocal Activities, will lead the combined forces in the Haydn Mass.

Tickets for this evening of Classical masterworks are available for $10 and may be purchased at the OCC box office, through occtickets.com, or at the door.

An exclusive reception will be held for prospective OCC music students after the performance.
