Yuri Minami and Minh Pham, two OCC piano majors who study with Instructor of Music Teresa DeJong-Pombo, won first prize in the prestigious California Association of Professional Music Teachers Ensemble Competition on October 12. The duo performed Francis Poulenc’s Concerto in D Minor for Two Pianos.

Minami, a native of Japan and an international student at OCC, has studied piano since the age of two; Pham, who moved to Orange County from Vietnam eleven years ago, began playing the instrument only two years ago as a teenager.
