Students who become members of the OCC Honors Program enjoy:

  • Close interaction with highly motivated instructors and students
  • Flexible, rigorous course work with enthusiastic faculty emphasizing students, teaching, and learning
  • Added preparation for upper division coursework
  • Notation of each honors course reflected on OCC transcripts
  • Access to Honors Counseling
  • Leadership development and service opportunities through participation in the Honors Program Student Advisory Council (HPSAC)
  • UCLA and UCI library privileges

Please note: there has been a rumor circulating that enrollment in the Honors Program will entitle the student to priority (early) registration for classes. Unfortunately, this is not true. We are working with the administration to make this privilege available in the future.

Additional Benefits for Students Who Complete Honors Program Certification

In addition, students who fulfill the certification requirements of the Honors Program:

  • Qualify for guaranteed priority consideration for transfer admission to a number of respected four-year institutions, including UCLA and UCI (Ask about our current transfer agreements with other universities and our special alliances with Columbia University and Georgetown University).*

  • Receive a notation on OCC official transcripts of Honors Program completion

  • Earn the privilege of wearing honors regalia and receiving recognition in the commencement program for their accomplishment

My experience with OCC's Honors Program has been the highlight of my stay here. I've had the privilege to work with an outstanding faculty as well as interact with highly motivated students.
