LINDA WHITE FUNDRAISER March 18, Saturday, 2-4:30 p.m.

Linda White: Four Decades of Painting from Geometry to Gesture is a survey exhibition of paintings, drawings, and prints from 1972 to 2020 by Linda White, who lives and works in Newport Beach, California. The exhibition demonstrates White's artistic engagement with abstraction and representation, showing her inspiration from East Coast landscapes to Pacific Coast seascapes, all the while maintaining her abiding interest in bold colors. The exhibition is on display at Orange Coast College’s Frank M. Doyle Arts Pavilion from January 30 until March 23, 2023.

In celebration of Women’s History Month in March, Linda White: Four Decades of Painting from Geometry to Gesture culminates in a fundraising event for the Frank M. Doyle Arts Pavilion on Saturday, March 18th, 2-4:30 p.m.

Linda White has graciously made works available from the exhibition for a range of donations. The event will be a celebration of Linda White’s commitment to painting over a span of nearly four decades and, along with her husband Tod White, represents their support of future programs at the Frank M. Doyle Arts Pavilion, Orange Coast College.

The event is free and open to the public. No tickets required. Food and drink will be provided. Free parking on campus.

2:00-4:30 p.m. event time

  • 2:00-2:30: Mingle, hors d'oeuvres, enjoy the exhibitions (also on view, Ann Phong: Re-Evaluating Normal)
  • 2:30-4:00: Introductory comments; walk-through of exhibition by artist Linda White and curator Tyler Stallings; attendees bid on works through silent auction, ending at 4 p.m.
  • 4:00-4:30: Silent auction winners check-out

Funds will benefit programs at The Doyle that encourage

student engagement through the arts.

DETAILS

  • A tax-deductible donation to the Frank M. Doyle Arts Pavilion that includes receipt of a work by Linda White can be made at any time prior to the March 18th event. The donation amount is listed on the caption for each digital image once it is expanded for viewing. The amount is also listed on labels in the gallery when viewed in-person.
  • If you would like to make a donation for a specific work prior to March 18th, then you can do so online or in-person at The Doyle’s front desk. Please have your credit card available for either online or in-person donations, or you have the option of writing a check to the “OCC Foundation” for in-person donations only. Staff at the front desk can assist you. Your work will then be reserved for you through March 18th and/or the remainder of the show through March 23rd. Details for making an online donation are listed below.
  • Your reportable tax-deduction is 50% of the artwork’s total value. For example, if the amount on the label is $800, then $400 is the tax-deductible amount.
  • Please note that any works NOT secured with a donation prior to March 18th, will be offered in a silent auction format during that day’s special event, during which time they are subject to increasing bid amounts. In this light, it is to your advantage to secure work with a donation in advance of March 18th!
  • If you have secured work with a donation in advance of March 18th, you may pick up the work on Saturday, March 18, between 2-4:30 p.m., or during the last week of the exhibition, the week of March 20-23, Monday to Thursday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • The Doyle is unable to ship, deliver, or install work for you.
