Classrooms & Programs

The Early Childhood Lab School serves children ages two to five.

We have three classrooms: Young Preschool (2–3), Preschool (3–4), and Preschool/Pre-K Combo (3–5).

Classrooms

Young Preschool (2 – 3 Year Olds)
- Children must be 2 by September 1st of the academic year to be eligible.
- The classroom is maxed at 18 children with 3 teachers and 1-2 student teachers.
- In the YPS classroom there is an emphasis on social-emotional development and helping children transition into school.
Preschool (3 – 4 Year Olds)
- Children must be 3 by September 1st of the academic year to be eligible.
- The classroom is maxed at 22 children with 2 teachers and 2 student teachers.
- In the Preschool classroom there is an emphasis on continuing to support social and emotional development and providing children with learning foundations for future success.
Preschool/Pre-K Combo (3 – 5 Year Olds)
- Children must be 4 years old by December 31st of the academic year to be eligible.
- The classroom is maxed at 24 children with 2 teachers and 2 student teachers.
- In the Preschool/Pre-K Combo classroom there is an emphasis on independence and developmentally appropriate preparation for kindergarten.
Outdoor Classrooms
- The Lab School has two outdoor classrooms that are both Nature Explore Certified Programs.
- The Lab School was certified in 2014.
- The Nature Explore Certification program is a national program that highlights program dedicated to providing children with meaningful, natural outdoor environments.

Preschool Extended Day Program (3 & 4 year olds)*

Preschool/Pre-K Combo Full Day Program (4 & 5 year olds)
- 8:30 - 2:00 PM (5.5 hours)
Option for:
- 2 days (Tuesday/Thursday)
- 3 days (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)
- 5 days (Monday – Friday)
Supplemental Programs (Preschool and Pre-K Class Only)
25/26 Extended Day Program – 12:00 – 2:00 PM
- Extended Day is an optional program (available to families enrolled in the morning program only) which includes lunch and an additional 1½ hours of supplemental activities for children.
- Price: Monthly payment of $100 x the number of days that your child is signed up for.
Options for Enrolling: Contact Vi Do-Rivera or Kourtney Jones for availability.
Summer Camp (Currently Enrolled Families Only)
1. The EC Lab School Summer Camp is an exciting 3-week program for currently enrolled families.
2. The program runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM during the month of June.
3. Class lists are thoughtfully and intentionally curated by teachers and staff and consist of mixed age groups. We truly believe in the benefits of having older children intermingle with younger ones; we have witnessed time and time again the tremendous growth in self-confidence and thoughtfulness in older children when given opportunities to take on leadership roles in helping younger children navigate new spaces and challenging activities for the first time.
4. Each year the teachers design a program surrounding a specific theme (i.e. STEAM, Art and Literacy, Science and Technology, etc.) that allows for engaged learning and activities that meet the needs and interests inclusive of children of all levels and ages.
5. Enrollment begins in March/April.

`Monthly payment – 10 installments of the annual cost due on the 25th of each month. The first
payment is due July 25th.
