What is MESA?
MESA is an academic program dedicated to helping first generation, low-income college students achieve success in STEM. By providing additional resources, community, and support MESA prepares students for their transition to a four-year institution. Each year students from this program successfully transfer to four-year institutions to further pursue their future careers in STEM.
Our Mission: Empower first-generation students from diverse backgrounds to excel in STEM fields through equitable access to resources, targeted programming, professional growth opportunities, and community building.
Students in the MESA Program join a supportive, like-minded community, gain access to additional study spaces and equipment, and are provided with support, building professional skills through research, internship, and networking opportunities.

Not a First Generation STEM Student?
STEM Accelerator is a new partner program which supports financial aid eligible students majoring in STEM at OCC. Eligibility for this program does not require students to be first-generation college students, nor does it require enrollment in a calculus-based major. Students in this program have access to their own study space, resources, and supports on campus.
