Entertainment Art

Design the Worlds of Film and Games

If you’ve ever dreamed of creating the worlds, characters, and stories that fill today’s movies and video games, the Entertainment Art Certificate is your launchpad. This program trains students in visual development — the art of designing everything audiences see on screen, from heroes and creatures to vehicles and environments. You’ll build a strong foundation in drawing and digital art, then move into advanced classes in concept design, world building, and production workflow. Electives like Figure Composition, Digital Sculpture, and 2D/3D Animation help you specialize and develop a professional portfolio ready for studio work or transfer to a top entertainment design program.

Core Classes for Entertainment Art include: Entertainment Art Project, Character Design 1 & 2, Environment Design 1 & 2, Prop and Vehicle Design 1 & 2, Digital Painting, and Visual Communication.

How to Get Started

The first step is to declare your major. After you enroll at OCC and meet with your counselor, ask them to add the Entertainment Art certificate to your Education Plan. You can begin classes before declaring, but declaring early ensures you’re on the right track.
