Austyn de Lugo-Liston: Erik von Detten

Erik von Detten is a collage, sticker, and mixed-media installation. This is one of the first activations of the Doyle’s Lobby Gallery; following the ceramics of Kevin Myers’ Red Wall. The installation represents a rejection of taste and restraint: the exploration of a queer, tropical, feminist, utopian imagination—the pleasure of looking at color and male forms. Through cutting and overlapping, Austyn de Lugo-Liston confronts and transforms social media censorship of queer bodies.
