Other Places art fair (OPaf)

On Saturday, September 14, 2024, the Frank M. Doyle Arts Pavilion participated in OPaf (Other Places art fair). The event celebrates artist-run spaces, curatorial projects, colleges, and non-profits in a “site-specific” transformation of the Battery Leary-Merriam area of Angels Gate Cultural Center (San Pedro, CA).

For OPaf, the Doyle presented the artwork of three artists connected to Orange Coast College. These include a current student (Ryan Weir), alumni (Juan Gomez), and current Acting Director & Part-Time Faculty (Dakota Noot). Gomez has previously exhibited at the Doyle in 2022 (the group exhibit For some memory or some land).

The trilogy of artists teases future collaborations for the Doyle and continues its commitment to both current and former students of Orange Coast College and outreach to the surrounding communities.

Event Listing: Angels Gate Cultural Center

Following the art fair, the Doyle presented the artwork of Juan Gomez and Ryan Weir in its Lobby from September 16 to November 21, 2024.
