ARC's Learning Center, established in 1975, is in place to assist students with disabilities who demonstrate specific learning challenges in English and Mathematics. An integral service unique to OCC's ARC program, the Learning Center provides developmental instruction in Writing, Mathematics, Grammar, and Spelling/Reading.
Our experienced Instructional Associates utilize a multitude of instructional methods and materials to teach including but not limited to computer-assisted instruction, workbooks, and textbooks, individualized and group instruction, online instruction, etc.
Course offerings along with brief descriptions below:
LRNG A001- Basic Skills Remediation: Designed to help students improve skills in academic areas including reading, spelling, grammar, writing, and mathematics. Offered on a P/NP basis.
LRNG A010 “Math Support”- Life, Academic, and Employment Skills for Students with Disabilities A: Designed to provide life, academic, and employment success strategies. Students preparing to enroll in an academic course where Mathematical skills are needed to successfully pass the course at Orange Coast College can benefit from this educational assistance course through the ARC—offered on a P/NP basis.
LRNG A020 “English Support”- Life, Academic, and Employment Skills for Students with Disabilities B: Designed to provide strategies for life, academic, and employment success. Students preparing to enroll in academic courses where writing and reading skills are necessary to succeed at Orange Coast College can benefit from this educational assistance course through the ARC—offered on a P/NP basis.
