Are you an English learner? Do you need to take Freshman Composition?
ESL A100
- Meets the same written communication requirements as ENGL A100: IGETC/UC 1A, CSU A2, and OCC's AA & AS degrees
- Focuses on responses on college-level readings
- Emphasizes Reading Comprehension and Critical Thinking
- Fulfills prerequisites for college-level courses, including PHIL A150, BUS A139, ENGL A101, ENGL A102, and JOUR A110
Why Should I Take ESL A100 Instead of ENGL A100?
- Instructors with degrees in BOTH English & ESL
- One extra hour per week to focus on ESL errors, such as sentence-level grammar and academic vocabulary
