FAQs

• What is Navigate OCC?
  Navigate OCC is a one-day event for students to navigate the campus, meet fellow students, chat with faculty, learn how to get involved, and take care of any last-minute business before the first-week rush.
• When does the event take place and how long does it last?

  Navigate OCC will take place on Wednesday, August 20th.

• Who can attend?
  Navigate OCC is intended for all newly registered students. 
• What if I haven't registered for classes yet?
  That's okay, you can visit the Future Pirate Center for registration help!
• How do I sign up?
  Click on the Sign Up Today button at the top of the page.
• What do I bring?

  The entirety of the event takes place outside. As it is still summertime and there will be lots of walking involved, we recommend sunscreen, hats, and comfortable shoes. We will also have water stations located throughout, so bring your reusable water bottle if you have one!

  Additionally, we encourage you to either print out or screenshot your fall schedule so that you can identify which buildings your classes are in while on the campus tour.

• What is parking like and where do I go?

  Orange Coast College is located at 2701 Fairview Road, Costa Mesa, CA 92626.

  Parking for the event will be free and will be located in Parking Lot C, located on the corner of Fairview Road and Merrimac Way. The entrance to the parking lot is Arlington Drive.

  Check-in tables for the event will be located by the flagpole in the middle of the campus quad.

• Is there a cost?
  No, Navigate OCC is completely FREE!
• What if I need an accommodation related to a disability?

  ​Reasonable accommodation requests related to a disability must be made 5 business days in advance. Please contact Jessica Bravo at jbravo4@occ.cccd.edu or 714-432-6880 for requests.

• What are my next steps after the event?
  After you're finished with Navigate OCC, make sure you purchase your textbooks and show up to class!
• What if I can't attend?
  No problem! If you need help finding classes, stop by any of our Welcome tables located throughout campus during the first week of school.
• Does any of this meet the priority registration orientation requirement?
  No, neither the Navigate OCC in-person event nor the Navigate OCC Canvas site meets the orientation requirement for priority registration.
• What if I have more questions?
