Pirates' Cove (Food Pantry)
The OCC Pirates' Cove supports the OCC student community by providing essential groceries and personal hygiene products at no cost. This resource ensures that students facing food insecurity or financial constraints have access to nutritious food and necessary personal care products. By alleviating these concerns, the Pirates' Cove enables students to focus on their education, fostering a more equitable and supportive college environment for all.
Located behind the bookstore, the pantry offers OCC students free nutritious groceries, grab-and-go snacks, and personal hygiene products. Students may visit to pick up snacks once per day, and groceries twice per week. Please be sure to present your OCC ID card when visiting.
Pirates' Cove Community Guidelines
How the Pirates' Cove works:
- Please present your OCC ID card at the check-in desk located at the entrance of the Cove before shopping
- You can go grocery shopping 2 times per week (on different days)
- You can pick-up grab & go items 1 time per day
- You can select hygiene products 1 time per month
- You cannot go grocery shopping and select grab & go items during the same check-in - they must be done separately with 2 check-ins
- We encourage you to bring your own grocery bags, but you must use the Pirates' Cove red shopping basket for grocery shopping (no filling your bags or backpack)
- For safety, we limit a maximum of 7 shoppers at one-time
- We encourage you to select your items within 5 minutes so that we can continue to serve as many students as we can
- Please put your items in your bag once you check-out and exit the Cove
- One entry per check-in: no re-entry after leaving
Other Reminders:
- Please do not cut the line out of courtesy of your peers. Also, we do not allow you to save spots in the line
- Please leave your bikes, scooters, skateboards, and other large items outside the Cove
- Please turn off your audio devices before entering
