Application Basics

The Common Application is an undergraduate college admission application that applicants may use to apply to any of more than 700 member colleges and universities. The aim is to simplify the process of applying to member colleges. You start the application process by selecting the programs you wish to apply to, then you submit one application that includes all necessary materials. Once received by Common App, your application and materials are transmitted to all of your selected programs.

After you set up your account, you can click on to your name at the top right of the screen to find “Instructions and FAQ” resources.
Common App has created video tutorials for the Common App for Transfer on YouTube.
