Your Confidential Point of Contact (CPC)
Need to talk to someone about harassment, discrimination, or concerns on campus — but not sure you’re ready to make a report? The Confidential Point of Contact is here for you.
Under California Senate Bill 1491 (SB 1491), every California Community College and CSU campus must have a CPC for LGBTQIA+ students, faculty, and staff.
This is a trusted campus resource where you can:
- Ask questions privately
- Learn about your rights and options
- Get connected with help and resources — without automatically starting a formal process
What can the CPC do for you?
- Listen confidentially - nothing you share is reported unless you say so in writing.
- Give you clear information about campus policies, Title IX protections, and services.
- Connect you to the right offices or resources if you decide you want action taken.
- Support you first - no pressure, no surprises.
What doesn’t the CPC do?
- The CPC is not required to report sexual harassment to Title IX staff unless you want them to.
- They do not investigate complaints or make decisions about policy violations.
- If the CPC is also a mandated reporter (for things like child abuse), they must still follow state law.

- Better access to help: Get the info and support you need, even if you’re not ready to file a complaint.
- Real campus change: This role helps schools understand what LGBTQIA+ students need, so programs and policies get better.
