About our Program

Orange Coast College’s Horticulture Department offers a comprehensive, hands-on program for both aspiring professionals and those already in the Green Industry looking to expand their skills. Students can study areas such as plant science, propagation, irrigation, landscape design, pest management, and nursery operations through up-to-date, industry-informed coursework.

The program features extensive facilities, including greenhouses, an aquaponics lab, arboretum, orchard, and outdoor growing spaces, with the entire campus serving as a living laboratory. Students gain practical experience growing plants, designing landscapes, and managing horticultural projects.

OCC offers certificates and pathways in horticulture and landscape design, with opportunities to transfer to four-year programs. Flexible evening classes make it accessible for working students, while hands-on learning helps prepare students for a wide range of careers in the field.
