A Riparian is the threshold between land and river systems. These nutrient rich habitats are varied in the types of plant and animal life found here. Aquatic plants stabilize the soil by their roots, oxygenate the water, and provide shelter for many small organisms. This is replicated in aquariums by the presence of an artificial riverbank and an unique arrangement of aquatic flora.
