What Is an SEP?

WHAT ARE THE OPTIONS?

• Schedule a Zoom or Campus Appointment in SARS or Cranium Cafe (Limited Availability for Summer)

  All first-year students seeking a Student Education Plan (SEP) are encouraged to schedule an appointment with an OCC Counselor. This is the most personal and collaborative way to ensure all questions are answered and the SEP reflects individual preferences. OCC counselors can meet with new students in person or via a camera-enabled video chat Monday through Friday. Students typically schedule counseling appointments one week in advance.  Same-day options are rarely available.  For students with many questions about their first semester of college, students with limited English skills, and students who utilized an IEP or 504 Plan in high school, booking a one-on-one counseling appointment is the best choice.

• New Student SEP Request Form (No APPOINTMENT) - 2026 Graduating HS Seniors ONLY

  Up until April 26th, students unable to meet with a counselor during our regular office hours may alternatively complete our New Student SEP Request Form.

  Our SEP form guides students through a series of questions related to their academic history, academic/career goals, and preferences. Please do not submit a New Student SEP Request Form if you have already scheduled or plan to schedule a one-on-one counseling appointment. A counselor will review the form and develop an SEP within 3-10 business days.

  1.  Please note that counselors are not available to build SEPs during OCC's Spring Break (3/28-4/5). Due to Spring Break, turn around time for the New Student SEP Request may take longer - pending the volume of response. Students will receive and email confirmation and directions for accessing the SEP once it is complete.
  2. Students who have existing SEPs will not receive a new one via this process. If you require further clarification or revisions to your existing SEP, you must schedule a counseling appointment.
