APPOINTMENTS FOR JULY 29 - AUGUST 2 ARE FULL! 

It is now PEAK TIME for counseling appointments and they fill up quickly.  The best times to meet with a counselor are the months of September, October, February and March. Please be aware that it may be difficult to schedule counseling appointments during peak times.

Counseling appointments are available to schedule weekly!

Appointments for the week of August 5 - August 9 will be available to schedule on Thursday, August 1 at 8:30 a.m.

Always check appointment availabilities on Cranium Cafe (see below in APPOINTMENT SCHEDULING OPTIONS) and call the office to check for possible cancellations.  

DROP-IN COUNSELING

Drop-In counseling is a 10-minute conversation with a counselor for general information such as prerequisite requirements, general transfer and graduation-related questions, referrals to other programs and services, questions about comparable courses or general quick questions. Counselors will not be able to review academic records or transcripts in this 10-minute session.

2024 HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE?

For 2024 high school graduates who have not met with a counselor and need support with course selection, a group Academic Planning Workshop is available for you.  

This workshop is ONLY appropriate for 2024 high school graduates.  If you are NOT a 2024 high school graduate or have already met with a counselor, please DO NOT sign-up for this workshop.

APPOINTMENT SCHEDULING OPTIONS

APPOINTMENT MODALITIES

The Counseling Center offers in-person, Zoom, and limited phone appointments.  All modalities may be scheduled online, in-person or by phone. The best times to meet with a counselor are the months of September, October, February and March. Please be aware that it may be difficult to schedule counseling appointments during peak times.

Appointments are released every THURSDAY starting at 8:30 a.m. for the following week. 

If you are not able to schedule an appointment using the SARS Online Scheduling System, please check Cranium Cafe scheduling platform first for availability, or call the Counseling Center for any additional appointments that may be available or for assistance with a staff member at 714-432-5078.

GUIDELINES for Zoom & Phone Appointments

1. Counselors will not conduct an appointment if student is operating a vehicle.  All counseling appointments require your full attention with minimal to no distractions.

2. If you have a Zoom appointment, please be prepared to turn on your camera for verification purposes. 

PHONE APPOINTMENTS

NOT recommended for new students.

Schedule a 30-minute appointment phone appointment if you are a returning or continuing student who requires a Student Educational Plan (SEP) or have questions that require a review of your academic records.  Students are limited to one appointment per week.

NOTE:  A 30-minute counseling appointment will assist students with setting up their Student Educational Plans (SEPs), however, students will not register for classes during their counseling appointments.

 

ZOOM & IN-PERSON APPOINTMENTS

Recommended for NEW & CONTINUING students.

Counselors will not conduct an appointment if student is operating a vehicle.  All counseling appointments require your full attention with minimal to no distractions. 

Schedule a 30-minute appointment if you require a Student Educational Plan (SEP) or have questions that require a review of your academic records.  Students can select either an in-person or Zoom appointment when scheduling.  Recommended for NEW and continuing students. 
Students are limited to one appointment per week.

NOTE:  A 30-minute counseling appointment will assist students with setting up their Student Educational Plans (SEPs), however, students will not register for classes during their counseling appointments.

Cranium Cafe is an additional online scheduling platform used for appointments.  Schedule a 30-minute appointment online if you require a Student Educational Plan (SEP) or have questions that require a review of your academic records.  Students can select either an in-person, phone, or video appointment when scheduling. Students are limited to one appointment per week.
