Internship Experiences for Employers & Faculty
For both employers and faculty, there are notable benefits to engaging with student interns and help prepare them for their role in the future workforce.
Why Employers Should Take on an Intern
OCC students are among the region's top for skill level, expertise and reliability. Employers can connect with our extraordinary talent pool by attending a career fair, posting a position, recruiting on campus or engaging with our students as a guest speaker or host. The OCC place of interns is to provide educational opportunities to students and offer professionalism, career readiness, industry best practices, and "day in the life" perspectives.
Why Faculty Should Mentor a Student Intern
The OCC's Career Mentor Program enhances the student experience by linking students to one-on-one with a career mentor. Students are paired with someone invested in their success – a person ready to listen, inspire, help navigate challenges and recognize opportunities. Students gain career advice and valuable insights while mentors build their networks and develop skills to become better professionals and leaders.
On-Campus Student Employment Program
Student Assistant assignments typically deal with clerical or communication-related responsibilities in a college department or division.

You likely have more than one reason for attending college and investing in your education, but nearly all students have a goal of working in their field of study after graduation. Perhaps you entered college with a specific major and post-college job or career in mind. That's where the Career Center comes in.
