Some workshops are offered in-person and others are offered virtually on Zoom. Please take note of the modality for the specific workshop(s) you want to attend. If it is offered virtually, students will need to click on the registration link in order to receive the Zoom link.
OCC Career Center & World of Work Overview (30 minutes)
Learn about the numerous Career Center tools, resources, and services available to OCC students, especially some exciting new resources like Mentor Collective, Virtual Job Shadow, and Roadtrip Nation. A brief overview of the ever-evolving world of work will also be provided.
- 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month (dates below) from 12:00 – 12:30 p.m. – On-campus (Career Center – Watson Hall, 3rd Floor)
- Specific dates are as followed: 2/2, 2/16, 3/2, 3/16, 4/6, 4/20, 5/4, and 5/18
Design Your Life: Career & Major Exploration (1.5 hours)
For most people, selecting a major and career path can be very confusing, stressful, and difficult, especially in rapidly changing world where innovations like artificial intelligence, automation, and immersive media are transforming how we live, work, and learn. Using “design thinking” mindsets and self-assessment activities, this interactive workshop will invite students to explore a variety of career paths while developing a sense of curiosity and adaptability.

Get Hired! (1.5 hours)
From job/internship search strategies, resume and cover letter writing, and interviewing tips, this information-packed workshop will guide you through the entire job/internship search cycle to help you get hired.

The Power of LinkedIn (1 hour)
Between major/career research, job/internship opportunities, and user-friendly networking, it is no surprise that LinkedIn is the best career management tool out there. This workshop will provide tips and strategies on how to best use the site as well as how to develop your profile and a strong presence. It's never too early to get on LinkedIn!

Create a Resume that Stands Out (1 hour)
Derived from "Grow with Google OnAir" job search webinar series, this interactive workshop will review 4 strategies you can use to improve your resume and stand out to hiring managers and recruiters. Participants will learn about resume formatting, writing, and customization strategies.
